Urgent Notification

The promulgation placed on the CIJC website on the 10/05/24 had an inaccuracy in the data. This promulgation has been revised and the correct version is now on this site.

The inaccuracy related to the section on Apprentices and the National Living and Minimum Wage. The typographical error referred to the age of 18 in the relevant narrative. The correct age is 19.  It now reads as follows –

APPRENTICES and the NATIONAL MINIMUM & LIVING WAGE

Employers should note that if an apprentice is in the second or final year of training and aged between 19 and 20 then the National Minimum Wage must apply. For apprentices aged 21 and over and in the second or final year of training the National Living Wage must apply. These are enforceable by HMRC.

With effect from 1st April 2024 the National Minimum Wage for apprentices aged 19 to 20 is £8.60 per hour and the National Living Wage for someone aged 21 and over is £11.44 per hour.

The CIJC Employers and the Joint Trade Unions have reached agreement in respect of a pay & conditions settlement for 2024/25

The changes take effect from Monday 24th June 2024.

Full details of the settlement are set out in the new Promulgation document which is available here.
